A. One of the reasons that you want to focus in a specific geographic area when you are just getting started is so you can become familiar with the market in that area and you can build your support team for that particular area.


If you must look for deals in another area, getting comps and good information can be difficult if you are not familiar with the area. I would say there are three possible resources for values - internet home value sites (do a search to find them), an appraiser in the area or a realtor in the area.
